  1. Refurbish and improve our city’s parks and recreation facilities.
  2. Collaborate and support high-quality public schools
  3. Improve our roads and strengthen our infrastructure with a focus on walkability
  4. Foster smart city growth through strategic economic development projects
  5. Ensure our budgets are fiscally sound and working for the people of Madison

John has been married to Heather Hulsey Seifert, originally of Enterprise, AL, since 2003. In January of 2009, they were blessed with the birth of their only child, John Drew Seifert III. He goes by Drew to avoid the “Big” and “Little” name scenario. Heather is an elementary teacher within Madison City Schools and Drew currently attends Columbia Elementary School.

John was initially elected to the Madison City Council in 2016 and again in 2020 running unopposed. He currently serves on the Recreation Advisory Board, Planning Commission, and Huntsville Emergency Medical Services, Inc.
