A neighborhood resurfacing program was established as a result of the half-cent sales tax enacted on October 1, 2013. The City Council reserved 25% of the revenue collected by that tax for the purpose of repaving neighborhood roads - a first for the City.
Resurfacing for Fiscal Year 2015 is now underway. Weather permitting, from September 29th until October 31st the following roadways will be resurfaced:
September 29-October 3: Stavemill Drive, Hylis Circle and Kathy Circle
October 6-October 10: Spinnaker Ridge Drive, Spinnaker Circle, Chestnut Drive, Walnut Street
October 20 – October 31: Merganser Boulevard, Mill Creek Crossing, Teal Park Lane, Wigon Circle, Ruddy Drive, Railroad Ridge Road, Cresent Circle
Contractors will begin work around 7:00 a.m. each morning, and residents are asked not to park or allow visitors to park on the roadway during construction. Residents will have access to their homes except for the brief time when the contractor is paving directly in front of their driveways. Work will be coordinated with the Madison County Sanitation Department and trash receptacles should be placed at the curb at normal time.
