[ARCHIVED] Madison Update After the Storms

Road Work

Greetings from City Hall.

Thankfully, the City of Madison weathered the storms this weekend with tremendous efforts from our Public Works, Engineering and Police departments.  After nearly 10 inches of rain in one week we move into a few days of sunshine. We are pleased with the proactive approach our employees are taking to keep Madison safe and as flood free as possible. Some areas being addressed immediately: filling pot holes starting with Madison Boulevard, Hughes Road, Slaughter Road and Wall Triana. Secondary roads and neighborhoods will follow. We will also be cleaning debris collection points in our drainage systems to allow water to flow. Our City Engineer, Gary Chynoweth has been two steps ahead  - anticipating possible issues and leading our Engineering team to diligently work on our drainage and waterways for some time. Due to that focus, Madison was fortunate enough to see minimal damage or roadway flooding.

Our staff is committed to Madison and the people we serve. Please reach out if you experience an issue. Our residents can utilize the “Let Us Know” function on our website for any concerns or call our offices directly.

Thanks and enjoy the sunshine,
Mayor Paul Finley
