[ARCHIVED] Public Meeting for Drainage Study of Betts Springs Tributary

The City of Madison invites the public to a meeting on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 5:30 to 7 pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 100 Hughes Road. The subject of the meeting is to review the proposed drainage study for the Betts Springs Tributary. This stream is located on the east side of Hughes Road , starting at Old Madison Pike and extending south to the Interstate I-565 and then continuing south of the Interstate to the Huntsville City limits. The new study reflects the City efforts to reduce the FEMA designated floodplain. The results of this study will be submitted to FEMA for approval of a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) that will reflect the reduced floodplain. Property Owners adjacent to the present floodplain have been contacted individually to review specific changes to their properties. The general public is invited to review the project and discuss other areas of Madison that may benefit from a study. This LINK will connect to the proposed map revisions for review before the meeting.
