The City of Madison Beautification and Tree Board was established on October 28, 2002, and acts in an advisory capacity to the Mayor and City Council. Its purpose is to enhance the quality of life in Madison through beautification and environmentally friendly practices.
In 2007, the Madison City Council approved the Knock Out Rose as the official signature plant of the City, creating a unique opportunity for residents, businesses, and local government to work together, using a cohesive landscaping element to create a distinct appearance throughout our City.
Due to the prevalence of Rose rosette disease in our area, the current 2016 Beautification Board advises residents and commercial property owners to be informed of RRD prior to purchasing volumes of Knoc Out roses for landscape plantings. Please visit theAlabama Cooperative Extension System website.
