Police Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOST)

The Police Officers Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC), through the Alabama Criminal Justice Training Center in Selma, AL, provides basic police training. The 520-hour training program integrates the following subjects:

  • Concerns for Officer Safety
  • Ethical Decision-Making
  • Constitutional Issues
  • Human Relations
  • Apprehension of Criminal Offenders
  • Community Policing/Problem Solving Concepts
  • Physical Wellness and Fitness
