2018 Arbor Day Poster Contest

Arbor Day Poster Contest February 2018

On Monday, Feb. 26th at the City Council meeting, 27 fifth grade students from local elementary schools (Columbia, Heritage, Horizon, Madison, Mill Creek, Rainbow, St John’s, and West Madison) received certificates and cash awards for their Arbor Day Posters from Mayor Finley.

This year’s theme was “Trees Are Terrific…in Cities & Towns!” Members of the North Alabama Master Gardeners judged over four hundred posters from our local Madison elementary schools. The first place posters from each school were sent to the state contest.

The City of Madison and the Madison Beautification and Tree Board would like thank all entrants for their contributions and also congratulate our award winners.

The Madison Beautification and Tree Board would also like to congratulate the state winner; Ann Gibbons from Weatherly Heights Elementary School in Huntsville.
