Purpose
  • To promote academic excellence by honoring and recognizing exceptional local students with outstanding accomplishments in one particular academic discipline

High School Award Recipient for 2006 - 2007 School Year
  •      Adam Raul Gimenez, a Senior at Bob Jones High School, received a plaque and a cash award of $2,750 for his outstanding accomplishments in Choral Music

Eligibility & Selection Criteria
  • Each principal will appoint a selection committee consisting of three faculty members
  • Consideration will be given to all Juniors at Bob Jones High School and all Upperclassmen at the middle schools
  • Each selection committee will choose an outstanding student from the appropriate class who particularly excels in one academic discipline

Sponsorship
  • The initial principal of this fund is expected to be contributed to the City of Madison by the Mayor and other donors.
  • Additional contributions may be made by interested persons or organizations.


  • Mayor’s Award contributions will be acknowledged in an awards program insert and on the City’s website in the following sponsorship categories:
  • Sponsor $    1-249
  • Patron $250-499
  • Benefactor $500-999
  • Regents’ Circle $   1000+
