DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE

NOTE: If you have a commercial driver's license, you do not qualify to attend a defensive driving course and must enter a plea of guilty or not guilty

General Information regarding the defensive driving course

1. The advantage of attending the course is that your ticket will be dismissed and will not result in points added to your driving history. The court does not have any contol over your insurance rates.
2. The level I driving course is conducted at the City Hall on scheduled Wednesday nights from 5:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. The cost is $154. To qualify for the level I class you must not have attended driving course anywhere over the last 2 years.
3. The level II driving course is conducted n Saturday at Dublin Park. Contact information for this class will be give to you at the time of registration. This class is required if you have attended a defensive driving course within the last 2 years.
4. To register for either class, come by the court office during regular business hours and prior to your scheduled court date. All pertinent information will be given to you at that time.

BONDING INFORMATION

You may post a cash or property bond Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cash and property bonds are not accepted on weekends or city approved holidays. To post a property bond, you must present your current year tax assessment card.

You may bond out 24 hours a day by contacting one of the professional bonding companies in the area. A list of these companies is available from the police department or you may choose one from the phonebook.
