The Madison City School Task Force received its charter on February 15, 2010. Under the leadership of Chairs
BG Bob Drolet (U.S. Army, Ret.),
Dr. Mary Jane Caylor, and
Rex Reynolds, the official group has grown to
30 participants including a cross-section of leaders and experts from across Madison, Huntsville, and Madison County.
The assigned charter of the independently functioning Task Force is to focus on ways to keep children safe in our schools. To that end, the Task Force is working under a structure of two complementary teams --
Security and Communication -- which will both examine current practices, review policies and procedures, research best practices, and make observations and recommendations.
Following initial meetings, and as each team begins its work on the research and analysis of the functional areas, the Task Force will begin gathering feedback from the community in a variety of ways -- electronic feedback forms, online surveys, and other methods of soliciting comments and concerns from the community.
The first system designed to gain input from the community is
Talk to the Task Force. Please take a moment and
send your thoughts to the leadership of the Task Force.
Regular updates on the progress of the Task Force will be available here, and everyone is encouraged to participate in the
online tools to assist the members of the committee in achieving its charter.
