Traffic Calming Program
About the Program
  • Traffic Calming is a term used to describe any measures taken to discourage speeding in residential neighborhoods.
  • The types of methods used and procedures taken are regulated by Resolution No. 2010-269-R
  • No traffic calming measures will be considered or installed on streets which primarily serve commercial or industrial areas or which are shown on the Major Street Plan.

Tidewater Drive Traffic Calming Plan
  • The Traffic Calming Plan for Tidewater Drive consists of a single speed cushion (6’x7’, width x length) be placed in the center of Tidewater Drive just east of Huron Cove in order to give a lane narrowing effect. The roadway restriction will be placed between 122 and 124 Tidewater Drive.
  • If you have any questions or comments about this plan, please contact Cody Wright at 256-772-2565 or by email.
