The Planning Department is responsible for:
Updating the City's Comprehensive Plan and making recommendations to the
Subdivision (Residential & Commercial)
Other development proposals
Coordinating the work of the Technical Review Committee, an interdepartmental committee that reviews all proposed development prior to action by the Planning Commission
efforts of the City including retail and commercial business attraction and business retention and expansion
Reviewing all commercial permits for zoning compliance
Approving all home occupation, sign, and other zoning permits
Providing staff support for many boards and committees, including the:
Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals
Madison Station Historic Preservation Commission
Industrial Development Board
