Kids Camp
What is Kids Camp?Kids Camp Group
Kids’ Camp gives kids a chance to have some summer fun while learning about what police officers do every day.  They get to play ball and water games, race through an obstacle course on the school track, and learn safety tips.  

Who Can Attend?
All rising sixth graders attending City of Madison schools, City of Madison Private schools as well as home school students at the same grade level.

When and Where is the Camp?
Kids Camp will be conducted over three weeks.  Campers will attend a one-week session based on their elementary schools. Home school parents seeking schedule accommodations should contact Sgt. Nick McRae (256-479-5137).

The dates for the 2017 sessions are:

June 12-16         Horizon Elementary, West Madison Elementary, Columbia Elementary
June 19-23         Madison Elementary, St. Johns Elementary, Heritage Elementary 
June 26- 30        Mill Creek Elementary, Rainbow Elementary, Home School

Kids Camp will be held at Discovery Middle School from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm each day. Parents will drop off and pick up their children at the back of the school.

When and Where do I Register my Child / Children?
Registration forms are available at the Madison Police Department, Madison City Elementary Schools, and online at the Madison City Web site  or ( Completed registration forms must be turned into the Madison Police Department by 5:00 p.m. on April 31, 2017.  Madison Police Department staff will accept applications during business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  The deadline ensures a correct count of children and allows time for ordering team T-shirts.

How Much does it Cost?
There is a $50.00 registration donation to help offset the cost of T-shirts and consumable items used.  Scholarships may be available through the Madison Police Foundation.  Registration donations are non-refundable.   The Madison Police Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, so parents can get a tax deduction for Kids’ Camp donations

Who is in Charge of Kids Camp?
The Madison City Police Officers and volunteers will be responsible for training and supervising the children who are attending Kids Camp each day.

What Should I Send with my Child to Camp?
While attending Kids Camp, children will need to bring a sack lunch every day. Beverages (soda and water) will be provided.

Parents and guardians should provide their child or children with a hat, sunscreen, towel, and water bottle. Your child may get wet and dirty each day, be prepared when picking them up.

Please wash the shirt that is being provided by Kids Camp each night. Children will be required to wear the shirt each day. Due to hot weather it is suggested that children wear shorts.
