Starting salary is based upon years of full-time law enforcement service. Applicants with prior civilian or military law enforcement experience may qualify for lateral hire.
Career Incentives - Yearly performance evaluations are conducted. If officers perform above average, they are eligible for a performance increase based on pay steps. Steps 1-10 receive a 4% increase and steps 11 and above receive a 3% increase.
Annual Physical Fitness Incentive - Officers are allotted three hours of regular pay per pay period for physical fitness conducted at one of two approved fitness facilities.
College Tuition Reimbursement - Officers can receive up to $1,000 per semester with a C average or better.
Holidays - Officers receive 11 paid holidays per year plus an additional floating holiday to be taken at the discretion of the employee.
Cost of Living Allotment - A yearly cost of living increase may be approved by the City Council and generally ranges from 1-5%.
