6 months - 3 years
Parents must be in the water with their child. The children will learn skills such as water entry, bubble blowing, and underwater exploration.
Starting at Age 3
This class is for those who are frightened of the water and/or cannot swim without constant assistance. They will learn to understand the basic water safety rules. They will enter and exit the water independently and fully submerge their face while blowing bubbles. They will be introduced to rotary breathing and practice alternating arm action. They will also learn to float and kick while supported on their front and back.
This class will teach your child floating on their front and back. It will also teach them how to glide on their front and back unsupported. Front crawl and back crawl (unsupported and supported) will be taught in this class. This class is set up to expand on the fundamental skills learned in Level One. Children may also explore deep water with floatation support.
This level is geared toward increasing swimming skills. Children will do the back crawl and elementary backstroke for 10 yards. They will be introduced to treading water and attempting to dive from the side of the pool in kneeling position. They will also coordinate arm stroke for front crawl with breathing to the front side. They will perform the front and back glide with a push-off.
This class will include the rotary breathing, deep water exploration, and bobbing. They will perform the front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke. During this class, they will be introduced to sculling, sidestroke, and breaststroke. The butterfly stroke and surface dives will also be introduced.
