Personnel & Responsibilities
The Operations Division is directed by the Deputy Chief. The Division consists of 63 personnel on three shifts. Each shift is led by a Battalion Chief to provide emergency response to the citizens of Madison.

The type of responses include:

• Fire Suppression
• Advanced and Basic Life Support
• Technical Rescue
• Hazardous Situation Mitigation
• Community Service

These responses average 2,500 annually. Each response consists of paramedic capabilities. Technical rescue services are not only provided locally but regionally and statewide through Alabama Heavy Rescue 1.
