Madison Holiday Cheer Brigade
Attention Madison Holiday Cheer Brigade Volunteers and Friends,
On Thursday, June 8th, 2006 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.,
we will be holding a Blue Star Service Banner Presentation Event in the Council
Chambers of the Madison Municipal Complex (100 Hughes Road) for the soldiers
of the Army Reserve
108th Division (Institutional Training) as they prepare for deployment
to Iraq. This special event will include a proclamation by Mayor Sandy
Kirkindall to pledge community support for these soldiers and their families
during the deployment. Representatives from several agencies will also
be on hand to provide information on services available to the troops and
their families.
Please join us in honoring the soldiers of the 108th Division and their
families by helping us make this event a truly meaningful experience. We
need your help to show our community support
for those who serve. Volunteers and sponsors are needed to help provide
the following:
-
Refreshments
-
Set-up / take-down of tables & chairs
-
Calling cards for soldiers
-
Gifts / care packages for families
-
Talented vocals for singing of the National Anthem
-
Expressions of support from community members & businesses
**Note: Monetary gifts/donations will be
placed in a special account set aside solely for the Madison Holiday Cheer
Brigade.
This is a 100% community volunteer effort, and
we hope we can count on your support. If you have any questions or need
additional information, please contact the Mayor's Office at mayors.office@ci.madison.al.us or
(256) 772-5603.
Thank you for your participation
