Dr. Terri Johnson was a member of the Madison City Board of Education from June 2007 until May 2017. She served as Board President from 2015-2017. Terri has a Ph.D in Applied Mathematics and has been a faculty member in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at UAH since 1994. She and her husband Greg have been residents of Madison since 1986 and they have three sons who graduated from Bob Jones High School. They are members of Asbury United Methodist Church. Terri has volunteered with numerous recreational and school sports programs, and has been a certified USA swimming official with the Madison Swim Association for 15 years.
Terri is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville (L-29) and recently served on the State Superintendent of Education’s Strategic Planning Committee on Mathematics. The common thread running through her interests is improving educational and recreational opportunities for students. She sees the role of this committee as researching and analyzing data, and brainstorming for innovative, data-driven recommendations to make our city even better.
