A Little About Councilman Bob Wagner  

Bob Wagner was born in Brockton , Massachusetts to a family of four brothers and four sisters. Being the middle sibling of a large family, Bob understands the art of compromising to get a job done. Bob and his wife Sallie have been married for 32 years; they have a daughter Brittany, who attends the University of Alabama .

Bob enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served from 1973 to 1977. He then attended the University of Louisville 's Speed Scientific School earning a B.S. in Applied Sciences in Electrical Engineering. He started working as an engineer in Amarillo , Texas after college in 1982 then going to Melbourne , Florida as a project manager and eventually to Madison in 1986. Bob is currently a Senior Proposal Manager for Intergraph Public Safety in Madison .

  • Madison Chamber of Commerce
  • Member of the 16th Huntsville/Madison County Leadership Program
  • Director of the Madison Chamber of Commerce Youth Council
  • North Alabama Landtrust
  • Board member of The Volunteer Center of Madison County
  • Past president and charter member of the Madison Kiwanis Club
  • Madison City School 's Technical School Advisory Committee
  • North Central Alabama Workforce Development Board of Directors
  • Past member of Madison 's Greenways and Trails Board of Directors
  • Member of the Project PROUD committee to renovate Palmer Park
  • Co-founder of Keep Kids Alive – Drive 25 in Madison
  • American Legion Post 229
  • St. John the Baptist Church  

Because of a desire to see Madison continue to grow into a well managed and planned community Bob decided to get into politics. Bob was elected to the Madison City Council in 2000. Bob is proud to call Madison home and wants to make sure that Madison will always be the best place to raise a family. He is currently a member of the City Finance Committee and Human Resources Committee, and liaison to the Industrial Development Board.
