A Little About Councilman Jerry Jennings

Jerry was born in New York City and grew up in the “Big
Apple”. Subsequent to military service he moved to
Huntsville Alabama in 1958 for a temporary assignment of
one year. That temporary relocation has extended for 46
plus years. He met his wife Gail in Huntsville and started
a family of three children, a daughter and two sons. Jerry
was widowed in 1978, remarried in 1989 and was divorced
in 1992. He is currently single. and his children are grown
and out on their own. Jerry is a member of St. John Catholic
Church of Madison .
He has been a resident of Madison for 15 years and resides
in Edgewater subdivision. Prior to moving to Madison ,
he lived in North Alabama for 31 years. He retired from
the local Chrysler Corporation Electronics Manufacturing
and Design facility as an Engineering Manager in 1996 after
36 years of service. During his working career he traveled
extensively to both south east asia and europe for purposes
of developing best in class international suppliers of
electronic semiconductors required by the chrysler huntsville
manufacturing facility.
For the past 25 years he has been active in many civic
activities that include local homeowners associations;
as an instructor at the Academy of Lifetime Learning at
the University of Alabama Huntsville campus; as a promotor
of Alabama Constitutional reform ; and a member of the
Edgewater Owners Association Architectural Committee and
Long Range Planning Committee.
His election in 2004 as Councilman for District #3 redirected
his life from that of a content retireee to that of a Councilman
representing his district and the city of Madison as a
whole. To date that transformation has been very challanging
with an expectation of making positive contributions to
the efficient and harmonious goverance of the city of Madison.
