About Madison

Madison is rich in history and character.  Once called Madison Station, where the trains stopped to pick up the cotton crop, the City is now a cosmopolitan economic center for western Madison County – the focal point of North Alabama’s technology boom.

Located adjacent to Huntsville International Airport, Redstone Arsenal, and Nasa’s Marshall Space Flight Center, Madison is a hot-spot for defense contractors like Boeing, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and others.

Madison is home to a diverse community of 37,000, growing at a rate of 5% per year.  A thriving, family-friendly community, Madison’s median age is 33, and more than 11,000 of those who enjoy its way of life are children under the age of 18.

Over 69% of Madison’s adults have Bachelor’s or higher degrees and nearly 60% work at the professional or managerial level.

Madison, Alabama – It’s a great place to live, to work, and to raise a family.  It’s the place where you’ve always wanted to live.
