The City of Madison has made preparations for possible winter weather. In the event there is snow and/or ice on the roadways, Public Works personnel will be addressing trouble spots in the City as well as maintaining emergency vehicle locations. All City facility closures, school closures, and/or road condition alerts will be posted as an Emergency Alert on the City’s website and will broadcast an emergency alert message via email and text message for those subscribed to this service. If you are not subscribed to this service and would like to be notified, please visit www.madisonal.gov/EmergencyAlerts and sign up.
Even if there is no significant snow or ice event, the temperatures will be extremely cold through the weekend. The City has established drop off locations for new or gently used blankets, sleeping bags, gloves, coats, socks, hats, and other warm items. These items will be taken to the Salvation Army and First Stop for distribution to people in need.
Items can be donated at the following locations within the City of Madison:
Madison City Hall - 100 Hughes Rd
Dublin Park Recreation Center - 8324 Old Madison Pike
Fire Station #1 – 101 Mill Rd (Next to City Hall)
Fire Station #3 - 12266 County Line Rd
