[ARCHIVED] BJHS Homecoming Parade Traffic Impacts

The following information is being provided to you by the Madison Police Department in an effort to allow motorists to plan accordingly and seek alternate routes during the upcoming road closings related to the Bob Jones High School homecoming parade.

Hughes Road will be closed from Mill Road to Eastview Drive beginning at approximately 5:30 p.m. and lasting the duration of the parade route which is estimated to last about an hour. The parade is scheduled to begin at 5:45 P.M., Thursday, October 1, 2009. Roads should re-open around 7:00 p.m. and be cleared of parade traffic by this time. It will also be necessary to close Portal Lane from Hughes Road to Stave Mill during the hours of 3:30p.m.-6:30p.m. to facilitate both the parade preparation and the actual parade route.

The City of Madison apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause, however these road closings are necessary in order facilitate traffic safety and allow everyone to enjoy this very special occasion.

For questions or more information on the road closures and times, please contact Sgt. Steve Wilkerson at (256) 772-5691.
