[ARCHIVED] City of Madison Website Earns Recognition has been recognized as a 2010 Top Government Website Award recipient by online encyclopedia and reference resource for its e-government and communication initiatives.

This year’s recipients applied innovative web technology in order to provide citizens with greater access to government information and services. is one of several government portals embracing the commitment to e-government services and making it easier to find government information.

“Our success is truly a team effort,” said Executive Assistant to the Mayor, Taylor Edge. “With representatives from all city departments, a much more robust set of relevant information is available across city functions rather than basic information.”

Award finalists offer an array of features and functionality that cause them to surpass websites in their class. The government awards editors hand-selected this year’s Top Government Award recipients by evaluating a variety of site features and functionality, including usability, timely content, access to online government services and technological innovation.

"The goal of the redesign was focused on accessability and getting the public involved in City government," says Mayor Paul Finley."Our website team has done a wonderful job of portraying the character of Madison while providing timely, useful information to the public."
