Summer Day Camp

Program Overview

The City of Madison Parks and Recreation Department will begin it's 7th year of the Summer Day Camp Program starting in May of 2018. This exciting program provides an opportunity for summer care for the children in the Madison area.

The Summer Day Program is for boys and girls K - 6th grade (grade is determined for the 2017 - 2018 school year)

Dates for the 2018 Summer Camp will be May 29 - August 3, 2018


The mission of the Madison Parks and Recreation Department Summer Camp Program is to provide a quality summer program for school age children in a social atmosphere to promote physical wellness, self expression and good sportsmanship through team and individual activities for the individuals participating in the program.


  • Increase Social Skills with peers and adults
  • Encourage participation and sense of belonging
  • Acquire new interests and hobbies
  • Gain an appreciation for the outdoors
  • Develop skills to enhance the use of leisure time
  • Make new friends
  • Improve health and fitness through physical activities and recreation


  • Team Activities (kickball, soccer, basketball, disc golf, scavenger hunts, etc)
  • Individual Activities (swimming, tennis, free play, dance, etc)
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Field Trips (bowling, movies and other possible trips)
  • Special Guest Speakers
  • Afternoon Snack
