Getting a Plan Reviewed

The Fire Marshal's Office conducts plans reviews for all commercial buildings and multi-family dwellings that are constructed within the City limits of Madison. Plans may be submitted to the Planning and Building Department at City Hall. Reviews are also required on all Fire Alarms and Automatic Fire Sprinkler systems.

Codes the fire department follows and enforces: 2021 IFC code and the current referenced NFPA codes. The City of Madison uses 2018 IBC – that said, we will follow the most restrictive concerning fire safety between us and the city.
